I am so thrilled. For the very first time, one of my books has become an Amazon best seller. It's a lovely feeling, but the reason the book was written does make the achievement bittersweet.
When I wrote The Mask Mitzvah, it was done as a response to going back to in-person teaching during a pandemic. I was panicked by the thought and worried for the health of my colleagues and my daughters, both of whom are preschool teachers..
Now that the book has debuted as a best-seller, I see that I am not alone in feeling this sense of dread. Teachers across the country have shown their love and will be reading the book to their incoming classes.
If you do download a copy or buy the print version, I hope it inspires your children to wear a mask, wash hands, and stay home if they are sick. Please be safe out there and let me know how you are using the story in your class.
With love,
Morah Leora
